International Project Week - Project Management

Course coordinators: Rao Aamir Ali Khan, Suvas Lamichhane, Arsen Asvarov (EuroMPM)

Participants

We offer one week of studies in project management.

We want to start with some case studies on well known projects (bridges, pipelines, airports, ... ). We will analyse concepts, scope, risks, failures and success - results.

We want to discuss core concepts of professional project management (stakeholders, project planning, project control, project costs, human resources in projects, conflicts in projects, decision making in projects, problem solving in projects, ... ).

We want to work on real projects. We will select projects we really work on - and projects that are appropriate for such a case study.

One project we will work on is the full implemetation of the International Project Week from 2010 - and offered each year. We will work on all aspects of such a "product": design, customers, organization, communication, ... . We will work on strategies to attract sponsors for participants and organizers - we will check under which programmes and under which conditions organizations like DAAD, universities and others will support participants and organizers. We will work on further strategies: How to link the International Project Week to study programmes at universities? How to integrate foreign universities? How to develop the concept together with other universities? How to develop an additional commercial version of that product?

For this workshop rooms 390, E34 and 134 (labs) in Emil-Figge-Str. 44 are reserved.
